seats

Postby pdcobra » Wed Jul 28, 2010 11:25 am

I have a question concerning the seats. I have the standard cobra seats, Im 6'00 and about 180 lbs. When I place the seats on the floor pan, I feel pretty low. I feel like im looking over the dash. I was thinking about putting some risers on the bottom but would like to see what others have don in the past.

Im 6' also. I have standard seats too. I used an adjustable seat slide under mine. raises it up about 1". Height is good for me.

yeah, i was thinking about the slider but was not sure if that 1 inch would help. I was thinking about 2-3 inches?

I made wedges to go under mine. They raise the rear of the seat about 2". I did them to get the angle of the seat back parallel with the rear bulkhead, which allowed the seats to go back farther. I originally had seat sliders too, but I removed them. My wife wasn't interested in drving the car and the seat was a bit too high with the wedges and the sliders.
To simulate the wedges, throw a piece of 2x4 under the back end of the seat and see how it feels.

I made wedges as well and I install sliders as well. I think I have 2" total front and 3" total back. This is also a function of were you bolt the seats rails to the floor. The further forward the higher it will get.
