finally down the road

Postby MIGHTY MIKE B. » Tue Jul 27, 2010 12:49 am

I finally got to drive the cobra down the road. One mile to calibrate the speedometer. It has been a long time since I have started this build. I got one of the kits sold on ebay back in 2002. This morning I am taking it in to be aligned and than work on the lose ends that I still have to finish.

Mike,
Welcome to the fraternity.
The car looks great! Can't wait to see it in person.
Tell us about the build and yourself.

I got the kit back in 2002 of ebay. It was the first thing that I had ever purchased from ebay. I have been slowly building it. Two kids in high school and collage had a way of helping with the slow part. The cobra has a 351 windsor crate motor that I purchased used with 5 hours on it out of a ski boot. Tremac tko five speed with a currie 9 inch with a 3:70 gear. I live up in Michigan, and we are in the middle of are cruising season. I also have a 68 camaro that I have been going to car shows and cruises with. Every one keeps asking me when will the car be done. Saturday is a big car show about 5 miles from home and that will be the first one I take the cobra to. I put 20 miles on it today every thing worked good and now I need to check the fluid levels and a fewer adjustments

I am located in Montrose. Which is about 2 hours northeast of Coldwater. Saturday the RC model airplane club that I belong to is having a big bird air show, and Sunday I will be at the car show in Montrose. Took the cobra to its first car show today and came home with a nice top 20 plaque. I have about 140 miles on the car now and I am really having fun with the car. I am working though a coiling problem on the car. I just about have it fixed
