New LS40
Few American cars have had the kind of inspiriting past and revered legacy that the Ford GT40 enjoys. A car so menacing as to figuratively run those scaredy-cat prancing horses out of Le Mans in the ‘60s. Henry Ford II saw to it that the project had all the technology required to take the World Manufacturers’ Championship away from Enzo Ferrari. The desired wins didn’t necessarily come about as an act of finesse, rather more like sending in the big guns to overpower the enemy. A real Shock and Awe!
The cars were formidable, to be certain. In one particularly memorable 1966 Daytona win, three screaming GT40s crossed the 24 hours of Le Mans finish line in rapid succession to take the “triple crown”. The cars were sophisticated for the times and purposeful in their execution, therefore not many of them made it to street duty. They were bred to dominate the track with duty-specific goals, WIN!
With Ford Motor Company’s release of its newly resurrected Ford GT, amazing popularity to its acclaimed predecessor has been rekindled.
LSC has finalized the prototype of its new LS40 and has thoroughly tested it on the street.
Prior to beginning design of the LS40 Lone Star’s engineers set a strict criteria of guidelines.
Below are these “thought to be impossible” guidelines:
- Stay true to the original look
- Components must be readily available anywhere
- Components must be extremely reliable
- High functionality & comfortable (user friendly)
- Competitive performance
- Require less than 80 hours to build (non-mechanic)
- Most affordable replica available to the public
Now, three years later the LSC Team is proud to announce that it has accomplished what was once thought impossible!
“Our LS40 combines both the handling and reliability wanted in today’s market. Its virtually impossible to find a better buy for your money!“
