The LS32 Roadster is an exact reproduction of the original 1932 Ford “Deuce” body. It wasn’t until the 1950s that the “Deuce" underwent customizations similar to those still being made today. Fenders were removed to expose large tires as well as hoods to show off a V8 motor. Windshields were chopped down to add to its aggressive appearance with loud exhaust to make their presence known. These were real rebels enjoying life to its fullest.
The LS32 body has a pre-installed firewall, dash board, and floor pan. The dash board emulates the same lines and styles of the original. The firewall has been recessed for the Chevy V8 distributor cap. Inner and outer door and trunk skins are included with the body. The inner door skins have recessed door hinge mounting areas making it easy to install door panels. The trunk lid can be mounted conventionally with hinges or as a rumble seat. Outer door and trunk skins are made slighter larger to allow you to trim down the edges for a near invisible seem.
The material used in its construction is new to the automotive industry. Lone Star Classics were the first to use this material in an automobile. Vinyl Ester first made its appearance in high end boats and airplanes because of its strength and light weight. Vinyl Ester is made in a very similar manner to conventional hand laid fiberglass how ever the resins are not the same. The resin is the “mortar supporting the brick”. When cured, Vinyl Ester is extremely dense with a very high tolerance to heat. It keeps your your paint cool and heat out of your foot box. Conventional over the counter fiberglass can be used to bond to our Vinyl Ester material.
The entire LS32 Roadster body only weighs a bit less than 200 lbs! It will mate to any chassis replicating the original 32 Ford chassis specs. So far we have not found one it has not mated to. Due to the large number of 32 Ford frame makers, Lone Star does not offer frames for the LS32 body. Odds are there are one or two companies offering them in your city or nearest major city. 32 Roadsters are the easiest to construct of custom cars and become more popular each year. It’s becoming hard to turn on the Cable or Satellite TV with out seeing one making it a terrific choice to build, enjoy driving, and be seen in.
We hope our attractive body prices allow this to be a possible project for you to enjoy. |
